I was concerned about 2 moles on my face which had got significantly bigger and also one on my neck which had started to itch and bleed. I spoke to my GP, in April, who referred me to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary who turned down my appointment due to it being for a 'cosmetic procedure'. I went back to my GP who gave me 2 options - either see the GP with a 'special interest' at the Locala Centre at Holme Valley Memorial Hospital or go private. I asked him to refer me and I received an appointment for the 11 August. At the appointment all the staff were very friendly and put me at my ease. The Dr described the procedure and what scarring there might be. I agreed to the procedure and it was undertaken there and then. I was in and out of the surgery within 30 minutes with all 3 moles removed.
Since then I have received my results, confirming the Dr's suspicions that the moles were benign and the scarring on my face and neck is minimal - I have red marks which I know will fade in time (as I have had a mole removed previously).
Overall I was very impressed with the staff and the service at Holme Valley Memorial Hospital and I would definitely recommend them to anyone thinking of undergoing the same procedure.
I am very happy with the results.
