"Painful experience"

I took my wife to A&E at 2 am suffering as it turned out to be septacemia, on arrival she was treated well and given intravenous antibiotics and put on a drip via a cannula. Later at 6am she was admitted to C3 Ward, at about 11.30 pm the cannula & drip were removed. At 9 am the following morning I visited my wife, on arrival I heard the consultant ask why my wife was not on IV antibiotics and ordered a cannula to be refitted for the IV, a nurse tried to insert the cannula twice but failed each time causing bruising, and a Doctor had to be called to fit it at about 12.30 pm. It appears that the cannula was previously removed because one of the Doctors had not written up the requirement for 6 hourly antibiotics so she missed five doses before they noticed which I believe extended her stay in Hospital. I complained to the Ward manager who appeared to show concern and promised to investigate the matter and report back to me. It is now 12 days and still no contact, I suspect they hope I have forgotten.
