About: Royal Blackburn Hospital

My father has recently been admitted to hospital and is currently on c5. He is very poorly and the outcome is still not know. c5 is a new ward for patients with dementia.Wow i am so impressed at last recognition for how this ward is vital to patients with additional needs. The staff have been first class nothing is to much trouble. The care and dignity given has really impressed me.Dad couldn't have been better looked after.I feel so welcome when i visit and time is taken to answer my many questions.Well done c5 you are a credit to the profession and should feel proud of the service you are providing.Spot on and thank you for giving such a wonderful service.Dementia and hospitals is usually a nightmare for us as a family and you have proved that a lot of thought about making the surroundings familiar and comfortable for dementia patients makes a world of difference.

Many thanks for your feedback on your experience of our C5 ward, and thank-you for taking the time to do so especially when I am sure you are still concerned about your father's health and future outcome. I will make sure your appreciation is passed onto the team who will be really pleased to hear your comments and thoughts on the environment on C5. I am very pleased to hear that your recent experience with us was really positive as we always strive to deliver safe, personal & effective care; and in particular on our ward C5 a lot of thought has been put into making the surroundings as welcoming as possible for people with dementia. If you would like to talk through your visit to us with one of our Patient Experience team so we can understand the bits of your experience that made this such a good visit for you we would really value this so that we can try to make it like this for every patient visiting our hospitals and services. You can either contact me (Wendy Stobbs) on 01254 734471 or email me on wendy.stobbs@elht.nhs.uk. Once again many thanks for commenting and best wishes to your father Regards Wendy Stobbs, Patient Experience Facilitator
