I am writing this review due to my 86 year old mum who suffers from Alzheimer's been admitted firstly for a broken hip and wrist then for bowel surgery but all while she was in at the same time. First of all it started with the ambulance she laid on the cold path for over 1 hour waiting for one to come!! My brother did ring and was with her as it was at his home where it happened but it took all that time not a good start. Then to A&E pathetic over 1.5 hours before a nurse even came to see her never mind a Doctor at 86 and in all that pain staff not nice to us or my mum as though they couldn't be bothered. Then came ward 33 not too impressed at first just tend to leave them sat there don't help them with food or drink and with one arm working not easy she even managed to get her pot off in night and broke her arm more!! But in the end they did turn out to be nice to mum and did keep us updated about things Doctors were really nice. HDU after her bowel op were brilliant I wish she could have stayed there. Then came ward 31 rubbish did not inform us on anything just left mum sat there crying most days with her legs badly swollen and just sat with them down in a chair when we all know they need to be put up. She should have been on the build up drinks but they never gave her them we always had to ask,if she felt sick they just chucked a sick bowl on bed and left she couldn't even sit up to be sick due to stomach op and one arm in pot and in big sling at side if bed. Then we ring one morning to be told she going to Mount Vernon it would have been nice to be asked never got to talk to any Doctors see how she was doing, then to top it off all her things got lost new glasses nightwear all personal belongings during transit from one hospital to other!
