"I was refferred to Lancaster eye ..."

About: Westmorland General Hospital

(as the patient),

Anything else?

I was refferred to Lancaster eye department on the 4th of October, by my Optometrist. I saw the consultant who made an appointmentto see me at Westmoreland General. a ten minute walk from the flat I occupy.

He told me I needed a Cataract operation before he would be able to assertain what state my Retina was in.

I believe the appaintment was made for March 2008. I remember him saying 'Hopefully by then you would have had your operation.'

I have since found out, and please correct me if I am wrong, that the consultant doesn't operate at the Westmoreland Hospital.

Why did he not refer me to someone at the Westmoreland.?

One of the reasons for choosing my local hospital was to save the Nation Health Service money. For I would have needed an ambulence to get me to Lancaster and back.

As Mr Palfreman stated that he was a patient with our Trust, we were able to write to him with our details requesting that he contacts us so that we could discuss his comments and investigate further.
