"No appointments available at any time"

About: London commissioning region

(as the patient),

To cut a long story short, I have phoned the receptionists at my doctors surgery a countless number of times to make an appointment to see my GP.

However each time I have phoned for an appointment, and waited up to 30 minutes to get through, I have been told I'm either too late, and to try again tomorrow, or that I have to book on-line!

On several occasions when I have tried to go on-line, the system is either 'not responding' or ' down ', or I don't have access to a computer in order to book the appointment.

The receptionist at one time checked the system, and could see an appointment slot available for my GP, however she said she couldn't book it for me as the system did not allow it. Ufff! !

Eventually, I was booked to see a locum doctor, and told that I could take it or leave it, as that was the only option available to me

Needless to say, I refused the appointment as I really do wish to be seen by my own GP even if it means I have to wait for an appointment!

Almost two weeks later, I'm still waiting......

What does it take to get an appointment these days?

If the system is at fault, then it needs to be examined and the short comings rectified. The receptionists should see it as an effort to improve the service not as an affront to them personally.
