"Open myomectomy surgery"

About: East Surrey Hospital

I had the above operation at the beginning of August and was in hospital for four nights. The level of care by the nurses and doctors was very good. However just one point. On day 2 I was sent to X-ray and was expected to get out of bed onto the trolley. The poor porter had to help me and when I was at X-ray the technologist (?) had to help me from the trolley to the X-ray table. This was embarrassing for him and I. Bearing in mind i coukd hardly move and was only in a nightie! Surely a nurse should have assisted as following abdominal surgery it is painful and very difficult to move around? I appreciate there may be staff shortages but this should be considered as part of patient care.
