My father (the patient) was first admitted to the Royal Lancaster Infirmary, where he was moved between a number of wards. Each time losing items in the process including cash which was not of great value but was still a nuisance.
When he went onto ward 20 to be rehabilitated his condition worsened. I believe this happened because of a lack of care. He became dehydrated and having to have a drip into his stomach.
At my request it was agreed he could be moved to Westmorland General Hospital at Kendal. For most of the time there he was much better cared for and the hospital was much cleaner. On one instance at the RLI staff could not find his dressing gown but when I visited the following day it was simply on the floor at the side of his locker and twice I had to ask for a used sick bowl to be removed from the window sill next to his chair.
"Care of my father in Lancaster could have been better"
