"It was a joy to be treated at Monklands"

About: University Hospital Monklands / Dermatology

(as the patient),

I was in Monklands Hospital on Ward 15 for 4 weeks being treated for psoriasis. The ward treats people with eczema, psoriasis and other skin conditions.

The treatment was excellent, you needed to be naked to have the treatment, the nurses were so kind and cheerful they made you feel at ease given your loss of dignity. They were always singing, joking and talking to all the patients they made you forget that you had lost your dignity.

Alison Dobbin, Ward Sister, and all the staff were a credit to the hospital.

If other people need to go to Monklands for this treatment they have nothing to be worried about. It was a joy to be treated there.

Dear Humble283

Thank you very much for taking the time to share your experience of the excellent care you received in ward 15, Monklands Hospital.

Being in hospital for such a long time can a very stressful for patients, especially as you describe the loss of dignity whilst undergoing treatments. Senior Charge Nurse Dobbin and her team recognise how difficult this can be for patients and I delighted to hear how they managed to put you at ease and made you forget your nakedness.

I will certainly pass on your kind comments to the team.

Regards

Ruth
