"Staff were courteous and caring, with one exception"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / General surgery

(as the patient),

In January this year, I struggled to be up and ready and travelled 17 miles to be at Nottingham City hospital for 8.00am. After being checked in, I was left sitting in a cold cubicle (with only flimsy clothes) for four hours before my treatment. Most of the staff were courteous and caring, with the exception of one young anaesthetist who didn't initially introduce himself and after the operation insensitively tried to speak to me to explain the procedure while I was being hooked up to a heart monitor. This happened because I went into spasmic shock when a young nurse trying to get me to walk to a chair after coming awake from the general anaesthetic. The following day I came down with a bad cold.
