"Superb Paramedics"

About: South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust

(as the patient),

While I was on holiday in Cornwall with my wife, I had a heart attack. I made a call to a number I saw on a poster on the campsite which said to call if we needed a doctor. They took my details and within 10 minutes an ambulance had arrived. Considering we were at least 30 minutes from the nearest A&E, this was very impressive.

Firstly Phil arrived in a car, and was followed by Sam and Ralph who took me to hospital in their ambulance.

My wife was in a bit of a state when they’d arrived, probably even worse than I was! They were superb. They dealt with me really well and also calmed my wife down a lot. By arriving so quickly they took a lot of worry out of a worrying situation.

Dear Penfriend344

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I hope you are making a good recover and that you are feeling much better now.

It is always rewarding to hear that our staff are continuing to provide excellent care to our patients, and their family members, when they need us most.

I would like to pass your kind comments onto the ambulance crews who came to your aid. Would you be able to contact me, laura.martin@swast.nhs.uk or call 01392 453831, at your convenience, with the date and address of the campsite that the ambulance attended? This would allow me to identify the staff involved and ensure they are recognised for the care they gave.

Thank you again for providing feedback on our service.

Kind regards
