"IN CARE SO MUCH BETTER THAN BEING AN OUT-PATIENT"

About: Princess Royal University Hospital (Orpington)

I gave a slating to the hospital in a review of 1st August of my wait for a hip replacement and I stand by every word of this, however, on 2nd August I was delivered early morning to AE, who were quick and efficient in my treatment and soon was passed to Medical 8 and thereafter to the Coronary Care unit. During the next 16 days I received exemplary treatment from all involved at the CCU, the Nurses, Doctors and Consultants were brilliant in getting to the bottom of my medical problems and I can't speak too highly of them. Briefly I would say that if you're trying to get straightforward treatment as an outpatient and go on a waiting list for surgery, don't hold your breath BUT if you get delivered there with a life threatening condition, you could not be in better hands. My heartfelt thank you to all at the PRU in A&E and in the Cardiology Dept. for the way I was treated. Mike Eames

Thank you for offering further feedback about a different aspect of hospital care which worked well in all of the areas that you passed through on your recent admission. I do hope that with the work being undertaken in transferring elective orthopaedic surgery to the Orpington site for those patients suitable for that location we aim to offer a consistent standard of service for patients in all specialites in the near future.
