"My few trips to A&E and AMU"

About: Royal Bournemouth General Hospital

I have had to go to A&E a few times this year due to mental illness ( I have been struggling a lot since I was 16 and I am almost 21 now) . I know that people usually have bad experiences relating to mental health and A&E but the staff were all so lovely and understanding. There was one member of staff in A&E who was so lovely to me and he constantly made sure I was okay. The only bad experience was with the paramedics where one was really rude to me. I was moved on to AMU after I received my blood results and had to stay there for a few days until they improved. All the staff were amazing there too even the dreaded mental health nurses. Thank you for making my stays in hospital as comfortable as possible as It is not a nice place to be.

Dear Anonymous Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. It is so encouraging to know that you have had high quality care during your time with us. I will pass your comments to the teams who will be delighted to know that their efforts have made a difference to your experience with us as a patient. In addition I hope your feedback gives confidence to others who may also have mental health issues and reduces their anxiety when having to attend the Trust. We can pass your comments on to the paramedics for their information. Again thank you for your time in completing this feedback. You too have made a difference – Thank you Sue Mellor Head of Patient Experience
