"Not pleased with the food"

About: Norfolk & Norwich University Hospital

(as the patient),

The food in the Norfolk & Norwich hospital is awful. I found one menu that was desperately acceptable and that was fish in sauce. I think they need to get James in to help them. One day I had a cheese salad, What could go wrong with that? . It was green leaves with a minimum of tasteless tomatoes and cheese grated all over everything. YUK! I was in for five days and I found that if I had the fish for lunch and rhubarb crumble for desert I could eat the fish for lunch and crumble for Tea.

The drinks were mainly served in plastic cups.

We are sorry to hear that the food you received during your stay was not of a high standard. We have worked very hard to improve the quality and choice available to patients in recent years, introducing new menus and a fresh fruit trolley.

Thank you for giving us your feedback and we will pass your comments to the catering team.

Update posted by Mas (the patient)

Hi Janice,

Yes there were loads of choices although not many patients get access to the menu.

However, the food within the choices I tried was awful. I know that I am not the only one to have experience of this. I realise that the hospital caters for many diets and tastes for some sick people but I am sure it can be improved.

The fruit trolley was really lovely and I must admit I did enjoy the fruit.

My suggestion is to cut down on the lengthy menu, and use more edible food.

Why not try James to offer suggestions.

Thank you for your reply
