"Waiting times in ENT are a joke"

About: Lister Hospital

When I was referred for surgery I was told that it would be a maximum of 6 weeks wait. 20 weeks later I am still waiting for an appointment. I ring the department every day to be told that they are 'working on it'. Given that I am well over the 18 week standard that has been set I am extremely disappointed to be treated like this. I have had no explanation as to why it is taking so long and it is very stressful as I am having pressure put on me by work to get a date sorted. There is a complete lack of understanding from the staff that people need to inform work etc and have other things gong on in their lives that they need to plan around. It is not pleasant being in constant pain and getting no sleep either.

We're really concerned at the lack of an explanation that you are getting from our colleagues in the Trust's surgery division. If you email us at generalenquiries.enh-tr@nhs.net, we will make sure that you get a full and thorough update on what's happening with your appointment.
