"Formal complaint procedure"

About: Guy's and St Thomas' NHS Foundation Trust

(as the patient),

In March 14, I had tests at the hospital. I wrote 3 times to PALS for the result in subsequent months and no one bothered to reply.

I made a formal complaint and after waiting 3 MONTHS I was told there had been "an oversight" (No kidding) and that I should write (again! ) and ask again and the results would be sent.

I did this and of course there was still no reply. It is now 5 months later and still no joy. Clearly the complaints procedure was a waste of time. I have now given up, especially as I raised it with the Ombudsman who suggested I first make another complaint about the original complaint. Well at that point I lost the will to live; talk about flogging a dead horse.

Taxpayers are powerless in situations like this - the hospital won't give me my results and there is absolutely nothing I can do. Even the Ombudsman is not interested.

Time for some online reviews methinks: hope this is helpful to others and serves as a warning. I feel people should go elsewhere and give these hospitals a miss: the test was at ST Thomas and Guys dealt with the complaint. I mean "dealt" in the loosest possible sense of course.
