"Swift response from GP practice"

About: Thames Valley

(as the patient),

I was beginning to think I might be getting a urinary tract infection and so booked an appointment with my GP surgery (Dr Kearley, Chivers and partners, Jericho Health Centre in Oxford). But during the afternoon I suddenly developed back pain and realised it might have already spread to my kidneys. As I work close by I went over to the surgery, explained the situation and asked if they had any urgent appointments free. They didn't - but I am grateful to the receptionist for trusting my hunch that I needed to be seen quickly, and squeezing me in anyway. The young GP I saw confirmed my suspicions and prescribed antibiotics. NHS primary care at its best.
