"A Hospital of Mixed Quality"

About: The Royal London Hospital

Initial treatment excellent, but as soon as I was discharged, I never heard from them again. List of mistakes 1 For a broken hip; Operation swift, discharged after four days,Physio spent 5 minutes advising how to walk up and down stairs with crutches, only to never hear from him again. After one month my own doctor referred me to a physio. I am still waiting for an appointment 6 weeks after the operation 2. Damage to eyes, inspection and expert made me return for a whole day, at great pain, for tests and scans. Upshot being the specialist said he wanted to run another scan. I received a copy of the letter two weeks later,to my doctor that I had been arbitrarily discharged, claiming I had no pain, even with repeated statements from me that I have both constant headaches, double vision AND pain directly in my eyes. Letter was written by a Doctor I had never even seen. 3. I was sent home with what they claimed was two weeks pain killers. If I had followed the instructions scrawled on the box, they would have lasted less than 10 days. I still have pain six weeks later. Lucky I have a high pain threshold. I have traveled all over the world and rarely seen such abysmal after care. I do not criticise the Doctors, Nurses or other General staff, who did their utmost to help me and make me as comfortable as possible and to my mind carried out their respective jobs superbly. I blame the administration that appears to have absolutely no checks or balances related to follow up and after care. It appears to be the office staff who are lacking systems or skills. I have been informed by my Doctor that it sounds like my hip is progressing well, but I am still unable to see properly nor work over 6 weeks after being discharged. I shall never willingly visit their facility again, frankly unless the administration gets its act together all the money for the now facility/ hospital is an utter waste of money. In the mean time the authorities close two hospital near by my area of residence. PS your department choice is below is useless given that man if not all patients are probably treated by more than one expertise. Also you have no facility for the "back office" departments
