"Practice closure in Halton"

I was delivered by the sole doctor in the practice 77 years ago. It was almost central in the town of Widnes. For years now, as the Practice has expanded around the area, and employs many doctors and other staff, the supply of accommodation for services has become antiquated. Patients and Doctors have tried for a new building. Then an attachment was made to the practice of a very large number of patients from outside the central area, from a new housing zone adjacent to the town, but about 3 miles away, because no provision was made by planners when the zone was approved for building. That zone is outside any normal catchment area for the practice. I live about one mile from my practice now and am not allowed to transfer to a practice half a mile away because I live outside its catchment area, and yet this zone was attached to our practice. Now NHS England are in the process of creating a new practice for us at last, but not for the original practice location patients, but in the location of the new housing zone. The reason given is that there are now more patients in the practice from the new zone than from the original practice area. I will have no means of getting to the new practice, along with so many elderly people from my practice. I could not afford a taxi there and I am too disabled to walk to bus stops and travel on buses if a bus service exists. The age configuration for the new zone must be considerably lower than that in the original zone.

I don't even know how to object before the decision is rubber stamped.
