"Good hospital"

About: The Eastman Dental Hospital

Wisdom tooth extraction went well and the dentists and staff are lovely. But, nobody really gave me any proper post-operative advice, I wasn't told not to drink through a straw (which I actually thought would be better than drinking normally), or not to spit, swill or brush properly for 24 hours, and I have ended up with an incredibly painful dry socket which has been causing me intense pain for ten days now. I trusted the information they had given me and it was nowhere near as detailed as what is available on the NHS website. I'm really unhappy to know that I could have avoided this pain if I had been better informed.

Thank you for taking the time to feed back to us. We are pleased to hear that your tooth extraction at the Eastman Dental Hospital went well, however we are sorry to hear about your experience of post-operative care. We would be grateful if you could contact our Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) via pals@uclh.nhs.uk or by calling 020 3447 3042 so that we can look into this.
