I am writing regarding the excellent experience/service I received yesterday at the while attending an appointment at the Lister Outpatient Clinic. One member of staff, who was doing an outstanding job managing a busy outpatient clinic, covering for an absence, was sensational. My commendation goes to the lady running Clinic C on 20/8/14 that help me book an appointment but did so much more. I had been struggling to get an appointment in a particular consultant’s clinic and, as I was in the Outpatients unit on Wednesday anyway to see a doctor (who also suggested I needed to see the other consultant in question) I thought I would pop into Clinic C to see if there had been any cancellations. Even though she was very busy the lady running the clinic was very friendly, patient and understanding, taking the time to listen to why I was there and the issues that I had come across. I left my contact details whilst I attended my actual appointment and she then spoke to the consultant on my behalf and discussed my case with her. When I returned, I was informed that whilst I could not be fit into the clinic on that day I was able to be booked into a slot in a week or so which she took the time to explain to me and also went through what had been discussed with the consultant so that I was aware. (This was good as it made me more involved) She then managed her time between me and the patients at the clinic front desk very well, if she needed to return to booking people in between dealing with my ‘longer’ query she would make sure to ask me if that was ok, not just turn away and deal with them. (I was very understanding as I could see that it was very busy) She then took the time to look for an appointment date and time that would suit me. The whole service/experience made me feel so taken care of and her attitude and demeanour outshone her colleagues and made a pleasant experience out of the visit. I also would like to point out another member of staff in Clinic F on 20/8/14 who again is very approachable and friendly, and always wonderful to deal with. Many Thanks – Great work ladies!

We're sorry not to have replied more quickly but we've only just been made aware of the comments posted on our NHS choices pages. And what nice comments they are too, which we will make sure are fed back to the clinic teams mentioned as quickly as possible. Many thanks for letting us know how well looked after you were when you visiting the dermatology team recently - the team will be pleased to read them!
