"Happy hip replacement customer"

I am absolutely delighted with the treatment I received at St Richards for a total hip replacement. Selsey Ward is a good example of team work. From my consultant, the nursing sisters and ward assistants all treated me (and every patient on the ward) with kindness and genuine regard for my well being and recovery. The food was palatable with good choices each day.Only suggestion I would make is to have the soup course at lunchtime instead of evening.Soup and sandwich midday is good for me. I had a spinal anaesthetic which was brilliant .i was kept informed of every part of the procedure and reassured at all times. I went down to theatre at about 8.30am and was back on the ward by 10.30am. By 11am i was talking to my family on my mobile phone ! The enhanced hip replacement recovery programme booklet was a godsend. It answered all my little queries and the physiotherapy visits were excellent. A big big thank you to you all who have improved my quality of life so much.
