"Lacking compassion and emotional support"

About: Pendine Community Mental Health Centre

(as a relative),

My mother suffered a sever stroke, and, to keep this short, rather than discuss ways forward in terms of rehabilitation at a recent meeting, I felt it was clear that an "agenda" had been preplanned and pretty discussed about pushing for my mother to go into a care home. I was enraged and disgusted.

I feel this is yet another typical NHS establishment where they follow their own protocol, and, want to "set it and forget it" in terms of medication and hospitalisation.

Some compassion and emotional support would be good here, but its the NHS..

Hello

I am sorry to read that your experience of the rehabilitation services provided to your mother was not of a good standard.

If you would like to contact me with more details I can investigate further. You can contact me via email sheila.harrison@wales.nhs.uk

Regards

Sheila
