"Terrible!"

About: Kettering General Hospital

I was referred to the treatment centre after being diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year. I can honestly say that every dealing that I have had with them has been difficult, the receptionists don't even look up from their screens when you are waiting to speak to them, they make you feel like whatever they are doing is more important than you. The breast care nurses say they'll ring back and then don't. I feel unsupported by them and just like a number not a person. I would not recommend this hospital for treatment and in particular I would not recommend my consultant. A very arrogant, unsupportive consultant. Avoid if at all possible! Thank goodness for Breast Cancer Care and Macmillian, it's a poor state of affairs when you have to rely on charities for support as you cannot rely on your own hospital!

The staff at Kettering Breast Service were very sorry to hear of your experiences when you attended the service in April 2014. All of the staff strive to ensure the highest possible standards for the patients in their care. I have made the team aware of your comments. I would welcome the opportunity to discuss your concerns in more detail and would ask that you contact either myself, Karen Roberts Lead Breast care Nurse on 01536 492532 or the Patient Advice Liason Service (PALS) on 01536 493305.
