I have just finished treatment as a day patient at Harewood, Springfield, Tooting. I was there for 10 months to help me recover from an eating disorder, anorexia.
The care I received during my stay was outstanding despite the team being under staffed. I applaud there professionalism and patience under so much pressure.
That place saved my life and I couldn't have done what I did without it. I do think that they should more considered and valued for the work that takes place on that unit. They are streched thin, no pun intended, and would need support and funding.
Don't get me wrong I never lacked attention or care but I am concerned that they will wear out if nothing is done and worse that the day hospital will disappear. I beg the NHS to prevent that from happening.
