I am absolutely disgusted with the practice at Treliske hospital, namely: my sister who is in the “Tin Croft” ward today after having a kidney removed and I cannot contact her!
Why is that you may ask? Its because you people now charge a premium rate for calls to the bed. Because my sister cannot walk I am being forced to pay 50p a minute ($1.00 as I am in Florida) for the privilege!
I called the ward sister who was embarrassed to tell me that I had to pay extra for a call, she said she was not allowed to walk over to my sister in the next room with a cordless phone. Plus the service totally sucks, as it doesn’t work. I was on hold for an operator because the system didn’t recognize the extension I was dialing in. It then put me on hold waiting for an operator and after 3 minutes said “sorry no operators are available”.
Charge me for a call, which does not work! I can’t believe you are resorting to such low level tactics to make a buck! Is there not a body that regulates this?
