"More sensitivity needed at East Surrey Hospital"

My partner came to East Surrey Hospital in order to give a semen sample as we are having to have fertility testing and he had to walk through an office and kitchen area in order to reach the donation room. He found this very embarassing and I can not believe that this is not done in a clinical area. He then had to walk around the hospital looking where to hand the sample in to.

Dear Worried wife,

Thank you for contacting the Trust through Patient Opinion. I am sorry to learn that your partner felt embarrassed at the location of the donation room.

Having seen the room, I quite agree that it is not in an ideal location and I can confirm that the Trust has plans to relocate it to a more suitable environment when alternative space becomes available.

I also note your concern about your partner walking around the hospital. I have looked at the instructions and they are unclear. I have asked that they are amended to include a map of the hospital with more detailed directions of how to find the laboratory.
