"My wonderful breast cancer unit care"

About: Pilgrim Hospital / Breast surgery

(as the patient),

After being diagnosed with breast cancer just ten months after the sudden death of my husband, I have been absolutely amazed by the fantastic care compassion and understanding shown to me in the Boston Breast Unit. I was treated by Mr Thekkinkattil at the Boston breast unit Pilgrim hospital and my counselor was breast nurse Doreen Macaskill-Refaat. Each and every member of staff, from receptionist (when there was one), to breast nurses, to my excellent consultant, has shown me such first class care and my recovery has not been an easy one with problems thrown up along the way.

The Counselling service that the unit provide has been an absolute life line and such an important service to people in my situation. Again this service has been provided with such professionalism and understanding and has been a vital tool on my road to recovery.

The Breast unit is such a very busy place and they work so very hard to care for us all it is good to be able to show my appreciation to such a wonderful unit.
