"Beyond the Call of Duty - Incredible standard of..."

About: Arrowe Park Hospital

I fell vertically, for nearly 30 foot, off a roof. The incident could well have paralysed or killed me. I was extremely lucky to walk away with torn neck muscles. The main reason I write this though is to thank the staff, and most notably the Lady Doctor for their care and attention - they were quite incredible. The Doctor stayed nearly 2 hours after her shift had finished and refused to go home until she knew my second CT scan results had been assessed and I was OK. She didn't tell me this, but I overheard some of the nurses talking about it in a far corner of the ward. It's amazing what you can hear when you are in a neck brace with only the ceiling to look at. This standard of care is the side of the NHS that is rarely reported, and I will be eternally grateful for the manner in which I was cared for. It was quite phenominal.
