"Poor service from eye dept at Solihull"

About: Solihull Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as the patient),

I had laser on my eye in early August. The Friday before, I broke my foot at work but I still attended my appointment as they are always telling me how important that I attend. A week later, I could not see out of my eye and it was so painful and bloodshot I went to an optician who told me I need to go back to where I had it done.

I was asked by the rude receptionist if I could wait till my next appointment. The reason I was there was because of the pain. I waited 45 minutes only to be told by the sister that I would have to go to Dudley Road, I explained I am a patient here and I also have a broken foot and my eye was due to the laser they had done. She would not listen and told me I would not be seen there.

I cannot believe I was treated like this, I now go to another hospital, where the waiting time was 3 hours. So rather than someone at Solihull look at my eye I have to wait when their hospital was full and the doctors there have to deal with someone else's patient. An absolute disgrace.

I would rather go blind then use this hospital ever again.

I am very sorry to hear of your poor experience and have forwarded your feedback to the service manager for Ophthalmology, with a request the issues you have raised are investigated.
