In 2010 i was admitted to hospital with seizures. i was placed on langum ward after being on eau and itu. my seizures were severe as i had a numerous amount of seizures before going onto langum ward, i had a seizure during the time spent on the ward then the night staff 3 days after being on the ward i was having a seizure i was left for 30 mins approximately. the man in the side bed next to me was hooked up to some wires cant remember if it was heart monitor, the man was very concerned that hes already pressed his buzzer several times it took the desk clerk 30 mins to attend to me. by then the TIA team was bought up to the hospital it wasn't till i woke up the next morning i went to get out of the bed and i dropped to the floor. i had no feeling in both legs could not move and they just sat there again ignoring it. i was sat on the floor for about 5 mins a nurse came up to me, i would never forget her because she was the only person on that ward that cared for me. she asked why i was on the floor i explained to her she said she would get the dr to come see me the dr came and seen me within the hour he checked me over and said i think its related to the seizure you had last night, i was not even aware that id had a seizure that night they gave me crutches before i came home and referred me to physio. after a year of being on physio i kept wondering why the physio therapist had stroke physio on his badge. i asked him that im not being rude but why are you covering for a physio that's when he said im not have you not been made aware as to whats happened, i said no me and my partner looked at each other confused. at that point my physio had gone to fetch the referral letter. he showed it me and right there in the middle of the letter was this patient has suffered a minor stroke leaving bilateral leg weakness my physio made it clear and aware that i now can not ever walk out doors without the use of my crutches. i am disgusted with the way i was treated on langum ward i now have to beg the hospital not to put me on that ward anymore. i am disgusted with the treatment off the staff on that ward. June 2013 was my recent attendance at the hospital, an also after being diagnosed with epilepsy for 12 years and on tablets every day, my neurologist decided to tell me i do not have epilepsy but a condition call N.E.A.D non epileptic attack disorder and she told my partner to only call an ambulance if i stop breathing :@ i went to see the epilepsy specialist who was very kind and explained to me in an hour and 15 mins what it took my neurologist 12 years to explain i was hoping that because i was diagnosed with nead that i could go back to work untill i got the carbon copy of the letter to my GP and neurologist stating that i do in deed have nead and also i do indeed have tonic colonic grand mal seizures and has advised my partner that if i have 3 seizures within an hour to call 999.
