"High Praise for Ward 41 Staff at Pinderfields..."

More often than not these days you hear more complaints than praise regarding the NHS system,the system may have its flaws but it still doesn't stop the nurses from doing their job's with the greatest of compassion and care. Having suffered from Alzheimer's for the last 5 years my mother was admitted to Pinderfields Hospital with pneumonia in July ,having travelled from Australia I spent the next two weeks 24 hrs a day along with my father with her in the hospital ward. During this time I was struck by the care and compassion shown by all the staff, doctors & nurses on ward 41 that attended my mother during her illness if we had questions they took the time to answer them and any concerns would be addressed by reassurances. Nothing was too much trouble for them even though at times they were extremely busy,when we required something they always attended within a short time giving treatment and reassurance. Many of the nurses would also pop into the room before commencing or after finishing their shift's to see how mum was and asked if we needed anything ,they went well above and beyond what they had to do it wasn't just turn up for work do what you have to do and go home.The compassion and care shown is rare in this day and age as we all know. Although mum passed away, the last two weeks of her life she had the best care and this is something we will remember during an extremely emotional time. The Golding family would like to give a heartfelt thank you all the nurses and doctors on ward 41 , and felt that the fact Pinderfields has some very special staff should be shared and acknowledged in some way.
