I arrived at A & E and was quickly seen by staff who performed various tests and scans straight away. I was transferred to Dunkery Ward where again all staff were really good. After a couple of days it was agreed that I should have an operation and the surgeon thoroughly explained exactly what would happen and the theatre nurse put me completely at ease. The 'recovery team' were also very efficient and jovial. After the surgery I was transferred to Barrington Ward where nothing was too much trouble for the nursing staff and I experienced excellent facilities together with excellent service - who would want to go 'private' when the NHS can provide service like this? I was very impressed with everyone I met from starting out at A&E right through to the Stroke aftercare team after leaving hospital. In my opinion Musgrove Park Hospital is 'The Best in the West' and I cannot praise the staff and service highly enough.
