I just went to A&E because I had a growth on my finger that my GP had said was a burst blood vessel and over the last few days it was becoming incredibly aggravated, I am also 35 weeks pregnant and did not want a huge growth on my thumb. I had to wait one hour to see someone which is not bad at all and then the nurse who saw me had to get his superior, who was so lovely and friendly. He then said it was not what the GP said and is in fact an infected Granuloma, one of the worst they have seen and the only thing to do would be use silver nitrate to burn it off and burn the wound shut...also there was no sort of painkiller I could take. Hmm...they were so lovely and said we can just test it first and if I say stop they will stop if it's too much. I ended up having most of the A&E team in to watch as they had never seen it before, I didn't mind everyone was very nice, and then my husband holding my hand and I managed the pain so they just did it. What a great team! They made me feel so secure, looked after and supported and all the staff kept talking to me and asking me questions for pain maintenance. I could not recommend them more! I hope they get to read this and I thank you all.
"Amazing A&E experience"
