"Virtually nothing"

About: Broomfield Hospital

(as a relative),

What I liked

Virtually nothing

What could be improved

Communication between staff and relatives. Every time we visited Mum, who was having a pacemaker fitted, she was in a different bed, different ward. We gave our contact details 6 times, and still they phoned the wrong person.

Eventually, Mum was taken home and left on her own, at 23:00 hours. If a neighbour hadn't noticed her light was on, the following morning, she could have died there. Remember, she had JUST had a pacemaker fitted and couldn't walk without a frame ....

Anything else?

Seems like a good place to catch a cold. I appreciate that everyone is trying their best, but really, the management and systems are woeful. It's not just the right hand not knowing about the left hand, it's 10,000 right hands all waving in different directions.

If I ran a company the way you guys run a hospital, I'd be out of business in a week.
