"Wife Terminally Iii"

My wife was admitted on the 27th July 2014 taken by paramedics. She was treated immediately by the A&E staff and an A&E doctor. My wife was stabilised and sent to Ward 3 for a short stay. Then tranfered to Ward 7. Due to my wifes medical problems concerning a fractured spine and cancer of the oesophagus she was in great pain. Further as the days went on she got pnuemonia and shingles making her really very ill and in more pain. Over the following days the ward staff cared for my wife with the greatest consideration and care and were most helpful in explaining what was being done for my wife. The doctors on the ward and the consultant's registras were excellent. The McMillan nurses from the McMillan Centre attended my wife every day and supervised the pain control through morphine which greatly eased my wifes pain. Eventually the medication was not working and my wife was taken off it to make her more comfortable. The last four days of my wifes life were made peaceful and pain free through the McMillan nurses controlling the morphine driver. Eventually my wife was mainly a sleep till she died on the 12th August peacefully and pain free. I cannot express my gratitude or my families in the special care of my wife while on Ward 7. We are all very thankful for the care, dedication and care given by all involved in my wifes last days. Thank you all.
