"Booking in service needs to be better"

About: Glenfield Hospital

Early this year I went to rapid chest pain clinic due to pain in my back and chest and getting out of breath also feeling exausted, the out come was it was my eptopic heart beats I had to have an angiogram and was told it would be with in 4 weeks no how wrong was they it took 13 weeks to get this done, but I did realise there are more urgent people out there than me,anyway after I had this done I was told I had got minor plaque disease and again eptopic heart rate so I would have a follow up in 3 months time at the cardiac clinic and possibly have MRI scan but in the mean time an appointment would come through for a 24 hr monitor which I am still waiting for 4 months on and no mention of the MRI !!,also I had to chase the follow up appointment as I should have gone July time it never came so by August I called the clinic and they hadn't got me down for a follow up ,they apologised and gave me one for following week ,once again I got asked about the 24 hour monitor by the young doctor when I told him they hadn't sent me an appointment he said he would deal with it straight the way and phone me in person this week but I am still waiting and all they have done is send me another appointment for november for another follow up , does anyone know what they are doing in the clinic is there a lack of communication by the doctors or is it because you never get to see your consultant, you only ever see there under studies, why say these things and yet nothing happens if they think I am not urgent enough then please say so please don't tell patients then when the time you are meant to have these things done ,and you are wrong,as I feel you are wasting my time and I am wasting yours, whether I will go to this appointment in November remains to be seen what is the point going round in circles ,apart from this the hospital it's self is fantastic.hospital when you actually get to see someone,

Dear Reviewer We’re pleased that you think Glenfield is fantastic, but we’re truly sorry to learn of the merry go round you have experienced in trying to sort out subsequent appointments. You certainly shouldn’t have had so much trouble in finding out what is happening. If you have any concerns or questions about you November appointment please get in touch by emailing communications@uhl-tr.nhs.uk with your name, address, date of birth and the name of your consultant, if you know it, and we be very happy to look into that for you. Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback. Sincerely Communications Team Leicester’s Hospitals
