"She showed outstanding support and understanding."

About: Inclusion Matters Liverpool

(as the patient),

I was referred to I. M. in January and have had 12 sessions with Julie. I can honestly say that from the beginning to the end of my treatment I had complete faith in my therapist. She showed outstanding support and understanding.

I was involved in quite a serious car crash 2 years ago and have developed a phobia about lorries on motorways coming out and hitting me, which is what happened in the accident. I had physical injuries to my neck and back and have undergone physiotherapy, acupuncture etc...

Julie showed such interest in my situation which has blighted my life since the accident. I have even had specialist driving lessons. As a result of my treatment I am far more aware of the reasons for my phobia and despite the excellent treatment I received it has not unfortunately solved my problem.

NB. I think the disappointing outcome in no way reflects on Julie’s professionalism and understanding. I believe that the answer lies within myself and that I simply have to persevere with the information I now have.

Dear Shell983,

Thankyou for sharing your experience. Recovering from such a traumatic experience is diffiuclt and can take considerable time. It sounds as though you have made the first, sometimes most difficult and most important steps in your sessions with Julie, by being able to understand why you feel the way you do. It maybe that in time, as you continue to practice what you have learnt in therapy things will continue to improve, or you may find it helpful to have a further course of therapy in the future to help you to continue your progress.

Best wishes

Tracey
