When my GP referred me to Inclusion Matters it started with a telephone conversation with Kate. Just talking to someone I didn't know about how I was feeling was helpful, it felt like a weight was lifted off my shoulders.
Later I met Kathy Killoran and spent 6 one hour sessions with her over the next two months. Kathy was great. She helped me to recognise how I was feeling and reacting to the events in my life. After each conversation I’d go away for a couple of weeks and find myself thinking, remembering and understanding things that happened to me but in a completely different way. I feel like I know myself now. I have learnt so much about myself and how I “cope” with life.
As well as helping me recover after a traumatic life-event, this course of sessions has helped me understand that my own mental health needs actively looking after… just like physical health. I was nervous before I started counselling, but it’s a process that in the end I have enjoyed and found really life affirming. I’d recommend Inclusion Matters service to anybody. Thank you Kathy, you have made such a difference to me.
