"Rude receptionist phone call"

I have huge, huge anxieties about dentists, making appointments for dentists, really anything to do with my teeth! !

It had been two years since my last appointment, as the lady on reception unhelpfully and rudely pointed out, and I am now required to wait more than a month for the next one... even then, it would only be a registration (I have a hole in my tooth that is getting bigger and gradually more painful). I had apparently also missed my previous appointment- however I don't recall having one made other than the appointment I attended for the last time I received treatment.

After being spoken to like this I now feel even more anxious about coming into this dentist, and coming to see any other dentist in general. It is little wonder why a larger and larger proportion of the population are under no dentist whatsoever when the few that still have to put up with NHS services and their slightly better but still obscene costs, when the few patients left seeing an NHS Dentist are treated so poorly! And especially those with issues around anxiety that are bad enough to cause me to end up neglecting my dental health in this way.

Although I understand the service is stretched at the moment, it would be incredibly helpful to have increased aftercare for those who are more anxious about dentists, such as follow ups after appointments or follow ups on why appointments weren't attended. The lack of communication (especially in miscommunication like this) can cause even more anxiety than necessary.
