"Accidental fall while visiting HRI"

About: Hull Royal Infirmary

On June 10th 2014 while accompanying my husband to the Audio Department, I accidently had a fall. I was taken to the A&E were I was seen at first by a speciality Dr I believe he was. he was very good and even wheeled the trolley to the Major Dept because he said he wanted to have a word with the staff. When I was seen by the Female Doctor in attendance she examined me and told me I was well enough to go home. She didn't send me for X Ray which myself and many others are quite surprised, considering my age. I am 74 years old, I have a hip and knee replacement also have history of osteoarthritis. It wasn't until I saw a Consultant 2 weeks later for a follow up appointment for my knee replacement that he sent me for an x ray on my pelvis and discovered my hip had become loose. I am now waiting to see another consultant. but in the mean time I am in constant pain and having to walk with a stick which I wasn't doing before. Surely the female Doctor I saw that day should have sent me for an X Ray. Good job that consultant is doing his job right.
