"Very sore knee, so far no diagnosis"

About: Telford referral and quality service (TRAQS)

(as the patient),

I have been trying to get treatment for a very sore knee (which is restricting my mobility) since late april. It is now late july.

So far:

No diagnosis

Nothing apart from ineffective pain relief

Every appointment takes 4 weeks and the booking proves adds a further two weeks to this so earliest possible treatment is now SEPTEMBER!

An inefficient, extremely slow, nightmare.

Thank you for providing feedback on your recent referral.

Unfortunately TRAQS has no control over the appointments system at your GP practice. if you have concerns relating to this issue please contact the Practice Manager who will be able to take your concerns further.

TRAQS can only process your referral from the date it is received from your GP - this may the cause of the delay you refer to. TRAQS have a process for dealing with referrals from practices according to the priority of the referral itself. All Urgent referrals are processed within 1 working day and Routine referrals within 5 working days.

I am sure that you can appreciate that TRAQS has no control over waiting times for appointments; and can only offer the appointments which are released by the hospitals electronically. TRAQS are able to offer a choice of location, anywhere within England, in order to secure the earliest possible appointment and reduce delays where possible. This is of course dependant upon whether the patient is able to travel further for an earlier appointment outside the local area.
