"Physio Therapy"

I saw the senior Physio Therapist at the Horton today due to PGP in pregnancy. I have had this in previous pregnancies and been treated in the department before. Specialists in the condition state it can be effectively treated by manual physio therapy, a chiropractor or osteopath. I have had manual physi in the department before and it gave some relief and this is what I expected this time. I was taken to a room and into a cubical and told sorry but the usual room was in use. The bed I the room did not work so the guy just shrugged, sat o it and asked me to sit in a chair. After talking in detail about my history (he had none of my previous notes and seemed to scan read my refferal in front of me to get a jist of why I was there) he did an assessment of my mobility and said I had stiff back muscles. I said I understood that as I was tensing them due to the pelvic pain. So he gave some exercises to help this. He said they would "hurt like hell" but just to get on with them. This goes against all advice previously given and all the research I have done. He then said he does not believe in manual physio (the thing that is proven to help my condition) and so wouldn't do it! When I got upset and explained that the exercises were ok but wouldn't help very much. He just told me I needed to give them a go for a few weeks. He then went to booka follow up but couldnt as there were no appointments showing and someone would call me. When I mentioned I had previously been told I would do some core muscle classes but I'd never recieved an invitation he said thats because they've not run that class yet (I was reffered for this over a year ago!) He explained they were skeleton staffed due to promotions! As you can expect I'm devestated. The specialist sites I have done research on say treatment needs to be started as early as possible to be effective. I will now suffer unnecessarily for at least the next 7 months as they will not treat my condition in the only way that has been proven to work.
