" I could hear them arguing over who would treat me"

About: Pilgrim Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

My experience started off quite well with the normal wait that is expected in a&e. The staff were friendly and helpful. Then an emergency came in and my doctor was taken to treat that patient... again completely understand. I have been told by the radiologist and the doctor that was treating me that my finger was fractured. A second doctor came to treat me and he didn't explain. What was wrong with my finger just that it needed dressing and I needed pain relief plus a fracture clinic appointment. He then went to the nurse and told her that I needed my finger dressing and that the original doctor should do it. She said about the emergency and he refused to treat me. I could hear them arguing over who would treat me. Fianlly a student (white uniform with red lapels). then dressed my finger. I had to ask for my antibiotics. The student nurse also did NOT we wear gloves while dress my finger.
