I had a heart attack in August 2007 and I spent two weeks including four days in the ITC at Royal Preston Hospital after which I spent two weeks in Victoria Hospital, Blackpool having had a triple heart by pass. At Blackpool Victoria Hospital the food was always unappealing and could not match the excellence of eatery at the Royal Preston Hospital.
After discharge, I was visited every fortnight by a community matron which was helpful in my recuperation. Eventually the visits were reduced to once a month. I feel monthly visits are not really necessary and that a call for help would be better.
