"This display could be replaced with something clearer for all to see"

About: Solihull Hospital / Clinical haematology

(as the patient),

Minor point but probably irritating for 1 in 10 males who like me are colour blind and who visit the Blood Test unit at Solihull.

The ticket number display is red on black and is of low quality. It is totally illegible for people like me and if it wasn't for the kind lady who I sat next to who told me when my ticket number had been displayed then I would not have known.

She also happened to mention that the last time she visited she also sat next to a gentleman who had the same issues so I guess its not just me and that it must happen on a regular basis. Colour blindness is often seen as a joke and yes it is a minor disability but perhaps if the opportunity occurs then this display could be replaced with something clearer for all to see.

Thank you for highlighting this issue. I have asked the Solihull team to replace this sign with one that is more appropriately coloured and also to double check other signs in the hospital.

Our apologies for the difficulty this has caused you.

Matthew

Dear Sir, Thank you for taking the time to post your comments regarding the number display unit in the blood test area at Solihull Hospital. As a Trust we do take all concerns seriously and I have therefore forwarded your posting to the Manager of the relevant service for consideration. Kind regards Jenny Langham Patient Services Team
