Ive had ongoing care and treatment at Medway hospital since last November 2013. At first, the care and compassion I was shown by the Sister and one of the drs in MAU was appalling but since then the care and treatment has been superb. I was transferred to Will Adams ward for six weeks and could not fault the care I received. The drs, nurses and health workers were very caring and helpful in relaying my fears and concerns. I was very impressed with how well the ward worked and everyone as a team. Since then, Ive had various outpatients appointments due to my condition including endoscopy, mri, xray etc. Everything has worked well, with everyone showing care, compassion and dignity. I see the dietitans regularly who are very friendly, willing to help and can contact them if I ever need help. I saw a gastroenterologist consultant in May 2014 and was impressed with how it went, although it took a while to get to see him. He was willing to help and listened to my concerns and fears. He has now put a treatment plan in place for me. After bad experiences at other hospitals and having no trust in a medical professional, I can begin to say that the support and help Im getting from Medway hospital is beginning to change this.
