About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital

Well after visiting a relative, and seeing the poor visiting times after traveling a great distance, and because there was another relative there, with wife, was told in know uncertain terms, Only 2 visitors allowed and the place was empty, showing no compassion or care , a rule stickler, I have been better treated in the third world, and even Russia where they welcome families, here its a little click of workers or jobsworths only interested in there job, Time this department was reviewed

Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback on your recent visit to Blackpool Victoria Hospital.

I am sorry to hear that you travelled a long distance and were unable to visit the patient you came to see. Visiting times on the Maternity ward are currently 1pm – 2pm and 6pm – 7pm, with new fathers being allowed to visit from 8am - 8pm. There are currently no restrictions in place regarding the number of visitors allowed at visiting times, restrictions are only in place if a visitor arrives outside of the visiting times. These restrictions are in place because outside of the visiting hours doctors ward rounds and other work is taking place.

The visiting times in this area are currently being reviewed by the Ward Manager, who is looking at extending the times and she would like to offer her apologies that you were treated in this manner whilst visiting the ward. She will be sharing your experience with staff on the ward to ensure they reflect on their actions.

Kind regards,

Paul Jebb

Assistant Director of Nursing (Patient Experience)
