About: The Tunbridge Wells Hospital

Presented with severe foot pain (Saturday). Advertised waiting time 53 minutes; seen in minor injuries after 2+ hours. Very brief examination followed by further wait for xray (computer problems). Seen again by nurse very briefly in public and told no bones broken but probable tendon damage. Given crutches and discharged. Total time spent with health care proffesionals approx 10 minutes. My main gripe is not waiting time, but lack of time spent clearly explaining diagnosis, or how to deal with it once home. I have since got much more detailed and helpful information from the internet and, as a result, am treating my foot myself.

We are very sorry to hear of your recent poor experience within the A&E Department at Tunbridge Wells Hospital and have forwarded on your comments to the Matron for A&E, who will carry out an investigation. If you would like to receive some feedback, please do contact the PALS (Patient Advice and Liaison Service) Team at mtwpals@nhs.net or by telephone and this can be arranged. Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your comments, which we value as they help us to improve the services provided by Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust.
