My partner's aunt had been in hospital several weeks in the Heathfield Ward 2. Yesterday was her 90th Birthday.
How wonderful to arrive at the ward and find the staff had taken time to buy, out of their own pockets, and arrange an array of coloured balloons around her bed and another floating from her table. They were all wishing her a very happy birthday. They also allowed us to take her for a walk in the garden and around to the reception in a wheel chair which greatly pleased her. She has not smiled in weeks but yesterday she was not only smiling but actually laughed three times.
The staff are a credit to their profession. I cannot commend them enough for their kind thoughts and deeds.
"Before yesterday, she had not smiled in weeks. Wonderful staff."
